We will be participating in the Great Shakeout Earthquake Drill TODAY at 10:15. 

Earthquake Drill Procedures: 

1. At 10:10 a.m., an administrator will announce to prepare for the earthquake drill.

2. Teachers prepare students for the earthquake drill by reviewing how to correctly perform “Drop, Cover, and Hold On.”  

3. Teachers show students the attached “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” video: If You’re Near a Sturdy Desk or Table (Earthquake Safety Video Series) Link (1:17)

4. Remind students that this is only a Drill, just a Practice in the event of an earthquake. 

5. At 10:15 a.m., Admin will play audio of the earthquake drill over the PA. Teachers strongly encourage students to practice Drop, Cover and Hold On during the drill so students know how to respond in the event of a real earthquake emergency.

6. After the earthquake Audio Announcement, Admin will announce that the drill has ended. (at 10:20 a.m.).
