Hurricane Tigers Varsity Nabs Win Over Logan Despite Early 8-Run Inning

Hurricane Tigers Varsity weathered a scare by Logan in the fifth inning where Hurricane Tigers Varsity coughed up eight runs, but Hurricane Tigers Varsity still won 14-8 on Thursday. Reed Olson, Josh Shumway, Alex Allen, Jeremy Smith, Spencer Wilson, and Keaton Pond all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Bats blistered as Hurricane Tigers Varsity collected ten hits and Logan tallied seven in the high-scoring game.
Hurricane Tigers Varsity got on the board in the first inning. Grant Scholzen grounded out, scoring one run.
Hurricane Tigers Varsity scored eight runs in the second inning. Hurricane Tigers Varsity put the pressure on, lead by a walk by Asher Christensen, a triple by Casey Robinson, a single by Brigham Stayley, by Luke Hirschi, a fielder’s choice by Sam Johanson, and a double by Johanson.
Landon Stewart led things off on the mound for Hurricane Tigers Varsity. Stewart allowed one hit and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.
Pond was on the mound for Logan. The pitcher surrendered nine runs on four hits over two innings, striking out one. Wilson and Smith entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.
Hurricane Tigers Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Brycen McCauley and Robinson all managed multiple hits for Hurricane Tigers Varsity. Robinson and McCauley each managed two hits to lead Hurricane Tigers Varsity.
Logan collected seven hits. Pond and Smith all had multiple hits for Logan.
