Hurricane Tigers Varsity Holds Onto Victory As Pine View Almost Erases 11-Run Deficit
Despite seeing its 11-run lead whittled down by the end, Hurricane Tigers Varsity still held off Pine View for a 13-11 victory on Friday. Pine View put up 11 runs in the failed comeback. Blake Stucki, Kyson Milne, Pedro Duarte, Milne, Andrew Shakespear, and #21 picked up RBIs to lead the rally.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Hurricane Tigers Varsity collected 11 hits and Pine View 15 in the high-scoring affair
Hurricane Tigers Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Sam Johanson hit a solo homer.
Pine View scored three runs in the fifth inning. Milne and Shakespear powered the big inning with RBIs.
Johanson was credited with the victory for Hurricane Tigers Varsity. The ace went four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on ten hits, striking out six and walking one. Anthony Guzman and Landon Stewart entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Stewart recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Hurricane Tigers Varsity.
#26 started the game for Pine View. The pitcher went one-third of an inning, allowing eight runs on four hits and striking out one. #21 and #22 entered the game from the bullpen, throwing six and a third innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
Hurricane Tigers Varsity socked three home runs on the day. Brigham Stayley went deep in the first inning. Johanson had a dinger in the first and first innings.
