to HHS

FYI – We sent this letter to all parents today:

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we reach the midpoint of the quarter, I want to respectfully request your support in ensuring that your student(s) are learning at high levels and on track to earn passing grades toward graduation. One of the most significant factors in student success is regular school attendance.

As a parent of five children—three of whom have graduated from HHS—I understand that students don’t always love coming to school. However, I urge you to send them each day and encourage them to arrive on time to every class. School offers invaluable “real-life” lessons beyond academics, including personal growth, problem-solving, punctuality, teamwork, social interaction, collaboration, perseverance, and learning to navigate challenges—even those they may not enjoy.

HHS is a great place, and we want to see your student(s) here each day so we can support them, help them learn, and recognize the many great things they do. With four weeks remaining in the quarter, please take a moment this weekend to talk with your student about the importance of a high-quality education and consistent school attendance.

Thank you for all you do to encourage, uplift, and support your student(s) and Hurricane High School.

Best regards,

Daniel McKeehan
Principal, Hurricane High
