Mr. Thomas reviewed the results from the Cognia program from the recent accreditation from HHS. Mr Thomas pointed out areas to improve as well as areas where the school exceeded expectations.
Member Sharea Davis asked if there were any areas that HHS scored poorly and Mr Thomas informed her that no, HHS was consistently above average.

Discussed the need based on data that English classes need to be a priority. We also discussed the need to look into using the Achieve 3000 program in a language arts class as a pilot. HHS has reached out to the WCSD about that possibility.
Mr Thomas explained that the expansion of ESL has also moved a Language Arts teacher into ESL and to meet this demand we will need to add an English teacher.
Mr Lebaron brought up “ripple effects” when using the money for teacher salaries and the concern that using STL monies for salaries can force a school to be dependent on STL.

2022-23 Budget outlook (a review of the carry over from 2021-22 as well as the 2022-23 budgeted amounts):

Vice Principal McKeehan elaborated on the current status of our budget as well as potential carry over for next school year. HHS is anticipating a budget next year of roughly $160,000, based on currently budgeted items this year, if carried over to next year would lead to $87,000 is open funding that will be allocated.
